This summer The New Yorker is publishing a series of Flash Fiction pieces. Link: http://www.newyorker.com/books/flash-fiction

I’m delighted to see the recognition and legitimacy that’s being brought to the short-short prose form. About twenty years ago, when my first agent was shopping my collection of flash and micro fiction, a number of major book publishers turned down the manuscript, saying that Flash and Micro Fictions had little appeal to anyone but other writers.
